Kim Dress

Just in case I haven’t raved about them enough over the past couple of years, it’s another BHL fangirl post! Don’t worry, once you’ve read this one, there’s another waiting in the wings…

We’re in the middle of moving house at the moment, so this is somewhat later than planned, but as we’re squatting with Tom’s parents for a couple of weeks, we do at least have a rather lovely backdrop for photos!

In case you missed it, the beautiful Kim dress was released this weekend, and as several other testers have said, it is a stunner (Fiona’s version is a particular favourite of mine). I made Variation 2 and although the pintucks are totally obscured by the fabric, I still love them, they’re such a pretty detail.

I made a straight UK size 10 and it fitted pretty much perfectly. My hips are a little more difficult to fit than the rest of me (the tops of my legs are slightly bigger than my actual hips so I tend to struggle with pencil skirts and the like), so I’d like to see whether Variation 1 would produce a similar result.

The fabric is a lovely John Kaldor cotton poplin from Susan at Sewbox. It’s got a really nice body to it and I love the pattern, even if it’s slightly more suited to a balmy summer’s evening than a chilly afternoon in December….

Anyway. GO BUY KIM. <3 <3 <3.
